Ovulation Induction Teatment
What is Ovulation Induction?
Ovulation induction is a procedure that aids women who have no ovulation. It promotes the maturation of eggs to the point of release, which is why people consider it when planning to conceive, especially in women with irregular or absent ovulation, such as women with PCOS or hormonal imbalances.
Ovulation induction is stimulated through the administration of medication that will mature one or more eggs per month to enhance chances of fertilization and possible pregnancy.
How does it work?
During ovulation induction, some hormone medications are prescribed to regulate the menstrual cycle and stimulate the ovaries to mature eggs. These medications involved in treatment for Ovulation induction increase the chances of fertilization.
Injections for Ovulation induction will give women the chance to stimulate their ovaries to produce eggs, which leads to increasing chances of successful conception. Ovulation is prepared by administration of hormones, FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone), hMG (Human Menopausal Gonadotropin), and hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) with proper monitoring in an expert manner. The injection is an essential part of customized treatment per individual's requirement and fertility goals.
The specific protocol in ovulation induction varies depending on the woman's individual fertility needs, the type of fertility treatment, and how well she responds to hormonal therapy.
The purpose of injections for Ovulation Induction involves

FSH (Follicle-Stimulating
Hormone)
FSH is a hormone that induces the growth of follicles in the ovary, each containing an egg. This injection triggers the simultaneous release of multiple eggs in one cycle, which therefore can increase the chances of conception.

hMG
(HumanMenopausal Gonadotropin)
hMG consists of both FSH and LH. LH is required for the final stages of maturation of the eggs and also plays a role in the induction of ovulation. Like FSH, hMG will stimulate the ovaries to develop eggs.

hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin)
hCG is administered once the follicles have attained a size of about 18-20mm to induce ovulation. The timing of the injection of the hCG is highly crucial since it has to be coordinated tightly with the timing of egg retrieval in IVF or insemination in IUI.

GnRH Agonists
They enhance the regulation of hormone releases that initiate ovulation. The drugs are often administered during an IVF cycle before egg recovery since they are able to prevent early activation of ovulation.

GnRH Antagonists
GnRH antagonists inhibit the production of FSH and LH by the body and are used to prevent premature ovulation. It is administered when the ovaries start responding to stimulation, usually on about day 5 of the stimulation process.

Progesterone
Injections
Progesterone helps prepare the uterine lining to improve the chances of implantation of the embryo after ovulation or an embryo transfer. Post ovulation, progesterone is used to sustain the endometrial lining for it to be more receptive to an embryo.
